Politics on SYL after Chandigarh
After Chandigarh, now the politics in Punjab has heated up regarding the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal. In this case of Haryana, there is a discussion about preparing to file a contempt petition against Punjab in the Supreme Court. In view of this, Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading in Punjab has alerted CM Bhagwant Mann. He has asked CM Mann of the AAP government to prepare for the legal battle.
Vading asked CM Bhagwant Mann that the enemy is standing at the door, what are your preparations? Prepare for a legal battle by taking all the parties into confidence. However, the Mann government has kept silence on this whole issue.
Haryana has passed the resolution in the assembly
Earlier, Haryana had called a special session of the Vidhan Sabha. In which a proposal to provide water from SYL canal was also passed. Now Haryana says that Punjab did not comply with the orders of the Supreme Court of 15 January 2002 and 4 June 2004. In which the remaining part of the SYL canal was asked to be completed.
Vij said - can file petition
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said that SYL canal is our right. So we can file a contest petition in the Supreme Court. He said that a new government was formed in Punjab and he demanded Chandigarh. It is not alone but the issue of SYL is also related to it.
Punjab and Haryana were face to face on Chandigarh
Punjab and Haryana were face-to-face over Chandigarh's rights. In Punjab, the AAP called a special session of the assembly as soon as the government was formed. In which there was a demand to hand over Chandigarh completely to Punjab. At the same time, a few days later, Haryana called a special session and raised the issue of giving SYL canal and Hindi speaking area with Chandigarh. The controversy started after the imposition of Central Service Rules on the employees of Chandigarh.
